On Tuesday, 20 April 2010, the Green Building Council in Croatia held the Second Symposium on Green Building entitled "Croatia, Europe, World - standards and certification for energy efficiency and green building"

  The Polish Green Building Council, in cooperation with the Romanian Green Building Council and Build Green Central Eastern Europe are organizing a symposium, Expo and a formal dinner.

15 November - Meeting of representatives of the network of European Green Building Councils

16 and 17 November - PLGBC Conference, including a presentation by the President of the Board of the World Green Building Council, the president of Build Green Central Eastern Europe and the heads of leading world tools for assessment of green building

18 November - includes a day dedicated to discussions on training on green building

Find out and learn all you need to become  a qualified expert in green building, including: everything about the costs and advantages of green building, the LEED® certificate and basic concepts of building according to LEED® standards – the possibilities of sustainable development of land, saving and efficient use of water and energy, ecological building materials and quality interiors. The sixth symposium on green building in Croatia on the subject “Carbon Footprint" was held on Tuesday 20.09.2011.as part of the World Green Building Week, at the Society of Architects in Zagreb. The idea of this symposium was to point out the responsibility and personal CO2 of each of us and its negative effect on the environment and human health, extreme meteorological changes and events, and the consequences for agriculture and the economy as a whole.  The symposium pointed out the possibility of practical application, methodology, technology and know-how in designing, building and application of projects in construction aimed at reducing negative influences, and also gave an insight into the importance and possible results of enlightened control of emission of CO2, using examples from practice (presentation of Velux and Mall of Split).

This week,in more than 80 countries of the world, including Croatia, by organizing various gatherings, symposia and conferences, we will be marking the World Green Building Week. This year's Green Building Week is particularly aimed at promoting the necessity of reducing consumption of energy and other natural resources (gas, water etc.) arising from the process of building and use of buildings in the world, and a reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. To this end, to mark the World Green Building Week, the Green Building Council in Croatia is organizing the Sixth Symposium on Green Building on the subject: Carbon Footprint (on Tuesday, 20 September). The Assembly was opened by Mark Gero, president of the GBC and Vedrana Likan, vice-president of the GBC, who informed members of the previous year's activities of the Council and the events expected in 2011, whilst Arn Willems, the SZG treasurer, presented the financial report for the first year of the work of the Council.

On Tuesday 15 February 2011, the Fifth Symposium on Green Building in Croatia was held on the subject "Efficient Management/Use of Water in Construction". The symposium was held at the Society of Architects in Zagreb.

The President of the Republic of Croatia, prof. dr. sc. Ivo Josipović received representatives of the Management Board of the Green Building Council in Croatia on Thursday 14 October 2010, in order to learn more about the Council's activities. The Council has been active on the Croatian market for a year and is achieving exceptional results in promoting practices of sustainable and green building in Croatia.

On Thursday 7 October 2010, the Fourth Symposium on Green Building in Croatia was held on the subject "Insulation in Construction and Alternative EnergySources".  The symposium was held at the Hrvoje Požar Energy Institute and in the "Solar House" in Špansko.

On Tuesday, 15 June, the Third Symposium of the Green Building Council in Croatia was heldat the Forestry Faculty in Zagreb. The main aim of the symposium was to promote sustainable building through practice and to present the use of sustainable building in practice more specifically to all those present at the symposium.
